Aiming at to impart value based education through teaching fundamentals with practical approach to meet the current societal requirements. We educate the students with the capacity to solve the real world problems that leads to the economical and technological transformation of the country. The Engineering Science department is committed to continuously improving the quality of education by enhancing the knowledge of students.

Vision

To create quality engineers with the knowledge of mechanical and civil engineering basics which help them to understand concepts in this area and to develop creative ideas in technological advances.

Mission

  • To inspire and develop innovative and pragmatic problem solving skills
  • To encourage students to achieve superior proficiency
  • To promote research & development activities
  • To endorse holistic personality development

About Course

The application base of mechanical and civil engineering field of studies is extremely broad and diverse. The scope in this area is continuously expanding beyond its traditional boundaries. Engineering science applies the basic principles of physics, material science and mathematics to the design, development, research, evaluation, manufacture, installation, testing, operation, maintenance and management of systems.

Infrastructure

Department Infrastructure

The department is fully equipped with the required facilities for effective delivery of lectures, state of the art computational facilities and laboratory facilities. In the first year of this UG Engineering Course, all students are divided into two groups. One group goes through the Physics Cycle and the remaining go through the Chemistry Cycle. Classrooms are used under both cycles. The subjects taught in both cycles are the same, but the order is different. At present the following laboratories have been established in the department.

Lab Facilities :

Lab 1: Odd/Even Semester

CAED Lab | Facilities | GSSSIETW

A-108
( 132 Sq-m )

Computer Aided Engineering Drawing Laboratory (CAED Lab)

  • This subject focuses on the fundamentals of engineering graphics and technology. In order to expose students to current industrial practices, students are trained on CAD software Solid Edge V 19.0 to practice 2D drafting. The lab is also provided with LCD projector facilities for the delivery of lectures.

Major Equipments :

  • Acer Make 15" TFT Monitor, CPU ( PIV, Intel 910 Gl Chipset Mother Board, 2.93 Ghz Intel Processor (R) , 256 MB RAM, 80 GB HDD, CD ROM, Acer Keyboard, Acer optical Mouse, HP to Laser Printer, UPS (6 KVA), Sketch Board. Total No’s: 40

Lab 2: Odd/Even Semester

Workshop Practice Lab | Facilities | GSSSIETW

C-101
( 200 Sq-m )

Workshop Practice Lab

  • The basic workshop practice helps students to understand the basic skills required for fitting, sheet metal work and welding. Students use various measuring instruments and tools to perform fitting and welding exercises. The lab also has drilling and grinding machines.

Major Equipments :

  • Bench Vice, Bench Grinder, Drilling Machine, Portable, Welding Machine, Drilling Machine, Surface Plate, Soldering Iron, Power Hack saw Machine. Total No’s: 30

HOD’S Cabin :

HOD’S Cabin | GSSS Engineering & Technology for Women

B-003BH
(12 Sq-m)

HOD’s cabin is also supported with Departmental Office (B-003BH) with an area of 12 Sq.mt

 Faculty Room :
