Women empowerment is a cliche'd slogan today. But for Smt. Rukmini bai Pandit educating the girl child and liberating her was a very valid cause for which she dedicated her entire life. Thus a technical institute exclusively for women, the first of its kind in Karnataka, is a fitting tribute to her memory and ideals.

Geetha Shishu Shikshana Sangha (GSSS) was founded by late Prof. B.S. Pandit, former Physics professor. As an academician, Prof. B. S. Pandit had worked for more than four decades in the line of technical education, started GSSS Institute of Engineering and Technology for Women in 2003, the first women’s engineering college in Karnataka and worked has Hon. Secretary from 1975-2008. With his leadership qualities, determination & dedication to serve for the cause of education, this institute is constantly upgraded its quality, infrastructure and other various developments. After his demise in 2008, the Institution was being headed by his wife Vanaja B. Pandit. Her commitment and dedication to the vision, that only education can empower a woman has seen the Institution grow to greater heights. Even at her advanced age, she was actively nurturing the Institution and ensuring women empowerment.

E-Resources Subscribed 2014 -15

GSSS first Alumnae meet was conducted on 12/04/14. The function was presided by Smt. Vanaja B Pandit, Honarary Secretary, GSSS (R) and the Chief Guest was Sri C. V. Gopinath, Former Sr. DDG andEx-Officio Addl. Secretary, Govt. of India. More than hundred Alumnae working and also pursuing post graduation are participated in the function. The participated Alumnae are working in different companies like Thought works, IBM, Wipro, Infosys, Tech Mahindra, L & T, SPI, Excel soft, Sysco, HCL, Unilog solutions, BEML, Rangson's Electronics and many more. A brain storming session was conducted where Alumnae day, plans for future, project works, guest lecture, industrial visit have been discussed.From the discussions, the Alumnae day has been fixed on second Saturday of May every year. The Alumnae those who have missed this wonderful function are requested to attend the next meet.

GSSSIETW Library and information centre is established in the year 2003 with the objective of fulfilling all sorts of information needs of the institution and function based on the quality policy of GSSSIETW Library is time to time setting new goals and successful in achieving all the goals it has emerged has modern library with its state of the art facilities and good infrastructure.

Library is a temple of knowledge which bless its users with the required information and helps them in enriching their knowledge . Library & information center is aesthetically housed in the main building with an adequate space & good ambiance with the area of 887 sq. mt with 250 seating capacity. our library has a comprehensive collection of engineering & technology its allied with subjects to meet the present & future information for the students & the faculty. The library has a total collection of more than 24547 Volumes and titles more than 3500 in various disciplines. Utmost care is taken in developing & maintaining the resources of each department.

our library has subscribes IEEE online e-journals ( ASSP package ) and more than 50 print version periodicals in various technical fields and some of the kannada magazines subscribe apart from this.The library also has the facility to access digital library resources through e-vidya & NPTEL. Our library has good collection of CDs/ DVD/Floppys for various subjects related to all departments
